Pedestal Boarding Bridges
Previous page Apron Drive Passenger Boarding Bridges Next page Elevating Boarding BridgesOur Pedestal Boarding Bridge is ideal where apron space, layout and the range of aircraft being served on a gate are limited. Fixed in position, they travel in and out and up and down to meet the aircraft.
A convenient and economical option, the Pedestal Bridge can be configured to serve any current commercial aircraft, single (SPS) or double lift (LPS) column options available depending on the range of aircraft to be served.
Our years of expertise as a specialist in the design and manufacture of bridges puts us in the best position to provide planning and consultation services to determine the most suitable solution.
We particularly recommend our Pedestal Bridge as the solution when terminal layout can be tight, such as at Sydney Airport where an additional bridge was ‘slotted’ in to give them added capacity. After carrying out a detailed feasibility study, checking the slopes and heights required to serve the nominated aircraft range, we selected our pedestal aerobridge and static link.
The length of the tunnel to the terminal is important as the bridges are set to operate between certain space limits for customer safety. The longer the terminal tunnel, the greater vertical travel we can achieve. However, this affects the length of the lift column so we need to ensure that we can get the height to serve the aircraft and select a lift column with enough travel.
We have supplied our Pedestal Boarding Bridges to Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
