With more than 15 years in service and more than 3,000 units installed, FMC Technologies' JetPower 400 Hertz conversion equipment has become an integral part of modern commercial aviation.
JetPower converters convert standard 50/60 Hertz utility power to aircraft-compatible 400 Hertz power using clean, efficient, reliable and maintenance-free solid-state technology.
The JetPower converters are more than 94% efficient and operate as demand systems, consuming only the energy required to fulfill the aircraft's power needs at any given time. With few or no moving parts, The JetPower units have negligible no-load power losses.
JetPower solid-state converters have a 20 year design life. The units are enclosed in rugged aluminum cases (NEMA 3R) suitable for operation in extreme environment conditions. All circuitry is self calibrating and requires no customer adjustment. Interchangeable modules are easily accessible through swing-down panels on the cabinet.

Each JetPower unit is equipped with a sophisticated, comprehensive system of internal diagnostics. More than 16 critical circuits and sub-systems can be evaluated through the use of light emitting diodes, external indicator lights, and a digital, alphanumeric read-out pad. A series of build in test devices monitor key circuits providing readouts to an externally visible digital meter. JetPower converters from FMC Airport Systems Jetway are available in a wide range of sizes, configurations, and design types.

JetPower units are available using either SCR regulated or pulse width modulation technology. JetPower converter units are the ideal choice for 400 Hertz applications anywhere in the world since they are fully compatible with imput power ranging from 380 volts to 480 volts at either 50 or 60 Hertz.
